A Stella & Olive Update

by Steph Mahrle

This morning an update arrived on #Stella the #redbonecoonhound and #Olive the #mutt. Here is what my client had to say, "Remember when Stella wanted to rip Olive's face off? " -The answer YES! The owners did an awesome job of following the #dogtraining plan, and using the #dogtrainingtools (#prongcollar and #Ecollar). Check out the snuggled up results! These dogs can safely play together now that they have both experienced #realworlddogtraining. This photo is proof that #correcting bad behavior does NOT result in an #anxious#fearfuldog, or even an #aggressivedog. In fact, Stella, was behaving aggressively on her #ezwalkharness when she arrived for her two week #boardandtrain. So by that logic the #harness and #treats made Stella #aggressive.  -Honestly though, don't buy into the hype of #positivereinforcement only type training plans. It will not solve true #dogaggression or #leashreactivity. If you've got a dog which is behaving badly, contact a #balanceddogtrainer. Yes #balanceddogtraining requires a brief correction. No, your dog's #soul will NOT be crushed. Yes, rewards are still involved in the process of balanced dog training. Bad behavior is corrected, not ignored...because #hopeisnotastrategy. This is how you train a #calmfamilydog.
